  22. INTERLEX is ShareWare. The software may be freely distributed, but a copying fee may be charged.
  23. Registration
  24. You should register you use of INTERLEX by sending a 3.5" floppy disk or 128k flash SSD, along with a cheque / postal order for 
  25. 10,  to:- Infocation, PO Box 527, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. ST6 5UY.
  26. In return, you will receive:-
  27. Many more crossword files on themed topics such as Easy Words, Cryptic Clues, French Vocabulary etc.
  28. Free update of the next version of INTERLEX.
  29. News of additional crossword files and other software as they become available.
  30. Installing INTERLEX
  31. The files on this disk should be copied to a directory within an area of RAM ( Internal Disk or RAM SSD ).
  32. E.g. Create a directory called \INTERLEX\ on the internal disk ora RAM SSD, and copy the files into that directory.
  33. ( NOTE: If RAM is in short supply, you can copy some of the .CRS files rather than all of them. )
  34. Next, you should install the INTERLEX application itself. To do this, choose the INSTALL option from the APPS menu item on the system screen. When asked for the name of the application, you should press the TAB key and find the INTERLEX.APP file within the newly created directory. 
  35. Using INTERLEX
  36. Select one of the files listed beneath the INTERLEX icon- each of these files corresponds to one of the available crosswords. First of all the shareware message will be displayed and you can continue from this by pressing < ESC>.
  37. You will then  be asked whether or not you wish sounds to be turned on- the sounds provide useful feedback but can be distracting to others. Make a selection using the cursor keys and <ENTER>.
  38. The INTERLEX screen will appear with the crossword grid on the left and the clue list to the right of it. The following keys can now be used:-
  39. <CURSUP UP>,<CURSOR DOWN>- to move backwards and forwards through the clue list. The current clue is shown in reverse type and the corresponding position on the crossword grid is indicated.
  40. <ENTER>- to select the current clue and ask for your guess. If correct, the word will appear in the grid and the clue will be removed from the list.
  41. <DIAMOND>- to cheat on a word. If you get really stuck, the current clue will be removed from the list and the word will appear in the grid.
  42. <HELP>- to display help.
  43. <ESC>- to exit the crossword and save the current state.
